PURPOSE: System and method for regenerating a gasoline particulate filter are provided to effectively regenerate a gasoline particulate filter and purify exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: A system(1) for regenerating a gasoline particulate filter comprises a gasoline engine(10), a three-way catalytic converter(20), a gasoline particulate filter(30), a differential pressure sensor(32), a control parameter measurement unit(40), and a control unit(50). The gasoline engine comprises a plurality of cylinders(11) and an ignition system for igniting air and fuel flow into a cylinder. The three-way catalytic converter is installed in an exhaust pipe(19) and oxidizes and reduces exhaust gas discharged from the gasoline engine. The gasoline particulate filter is installed in the exhaust pipe of the rear side of the three-way catalytic converter, collects the particulate in the exhaust gas, and regenerates the particulate by using the temperature of the exhaust gas. The differential pressure sensor is installed in the front and rear side of the gasoline particulate filter and measures the differential pressure of the gasoline particulate filter. The control parameter measurement unit measures control parameters for regenerating the gasoline particulate filter. The control unit collects the differential pressure and control parameter and controls the regeneration of gasoline particulate filter on the basis of collected data.
