A pump 100 has inlets 103, 203 on opposite sides of the impeller rotor 500, a peripheral outlet 314 and a substantially circular impeller 201 with a sinusoidal (wavy) profile. The opposite sides of the casing may be generally conical 305A, 305B, producing an annular pump chamber, and the outlet 314 may be angled but not tangential with respect to the wall of the pump chamber. The two inlets are on opposite sides of the impeller, producing a double suction (thrust balanced) arrangement. |
