An enhanced embossing pattern of an absorbent article having a substrate th at has at least one embossed area and one unembossed area, wherein the embossed area has at least two sidewalls and a floor and a coating deposited in the emboss ed area, wherein the coating imparts visual contrast between the embossed area and th e unembossed area of the substrate. Also included are related methods of maki ng such absorbent articles.
