<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant gear oil composition which can be used for various used having the possibility of ignition, has flame retardancy and a self-extinguishing property, and is excellent in thermal oxidization stability and an extreme-pressure property. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is a gear oil composition comprising a base oil and an extreme-pressure agent, characterized by containing a condensed phosphate represented by general formula (1), [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, and R<SP>5</SP>are each independently a 1C-22C hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is a 1C-6C hydrocarbon group; R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>are each independently H or a 1C-15C hydrocarbon group; (n) is an integer of 1 to 5], in an amount of ≥20 mass% based on the total amount of the base oil, as the base oil, containing a sulfur-containing extreme-pressure agent in an amount of 0.2 to 10 mass% based on the total amount of the gear oil as the extreme-pressure agent, and having a dynamic viscosity of 50 to 1,000 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 40°C.
