MATERIAL HANDLING SYSTEM HAVING A SCOOP WHEEL

A material handling system (12) is provided. The material handling system (12)
includes a tank (30) defining a reservoir for receiving a solid material, and
a wheel (32) including a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart scoops
(34) for scooping solid material from the tank (30) and subsequently
discharging scooped solid material from the tank (30) onto a corresponding
conveyor belt (37) during rotation of the wheel (32). The wheel axis is tilted
releative to a horizontal reference (H) and the wheel (32) is mounted to
permet movement of the wheel in both radial and axial directions during
rotation thereof.
