<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify the position of an object in an image obtained by imaging the object even when the object is shone directly under the sun and the object is positioned at a distance. <P>SOLUTION: An object identification method includes: mounting an optical characteristic section 3 for absorbing light in a first wavelength region and reflecting light in a second wavelength region, on an object 1; preparing a first optical system 6 for allowing the light in the first wavelength region to be incident on a first imaging section 5a, and reflecting the light in the second wavelength region onto a position other than the first imaging section or absorbing the light in the second wavelength region, and a second optical system 8 for allowing the light in the second wavelength region to be incident on a second imaging section 5b; imaging a region including the object 1 through the first optical system 6 with the first imaging section 5a to generate a first image, and imaging the region including the object 1 through the second optical system 8 with the second imaging section 5b to generate a second image; determining a ratio B/A of brightness A of each pixel of the first image to brightness B of the pixel of the corresponding second image; and specifying the position of the optical characteristic section 3 based on the ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
