<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide thin paper that has excellent strength characteristics, and superior liquid permeability and liquid diffusibility. <P>SOLUTION: Thin paper contains a fibrous material containing a pulp fiber and a rayon fiber, carboxymethyl cellulose of 0.2-0.6 etherification degree or a salt thereof and a wet paper-strengthening agent, and has a basis weight of 10-30 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>and a crepe ratio of 5-30%.
