<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a capacity required for engine start in a first battery at all times even when a sufficient charging time cannot be secured due to work interruption or the like, and to surely and effectively prevent an engine start defect. <P>SOLUTION: A work machine is equipped with an engine 1, an engine control part 2 for executing idling stop (AIS) control, power generation means 5 driven by the engine to supply electricity to electrical components, a first battery 7 used to start the engine, and a second battery 8 used for load drive during AIS; and both batteries are connected to the power generation means in parallel and so as to be selectively charged by switches 9 and 10. A battery charge/discharge controller 11 includes means for estimating residual capacity of both batteries, means for estimating a charging time required for recovery from the residual capacity of the respective batteries to a target capacity, means for executing capacity management of the respective batteries by controlling opening/closing of the switches so as to use the charging time for charging, and means for limiting a discharge capacity of the second battery to be equal to or less than a setting value during the AIS. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
