<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor that is easy to make its diameter small. <P>SOLUTION: An ultrasonic motor comprises: a case 10 which is generally cylindrical and houses a component of the ultrasonic motor 1; an elastic body 14 which is formed by molded metal and the longitudinal direction of which is the same as the longitudinal direction of the case; plate-like piezoelectric elements 16-1, 16-2 provided on the elastic body 14; and a rotor 12 which contacts one end of the elastic body. The elastic body 14 comprises: a contact part 14-3 formed by an end contacting the rotor 12, a drive part 14-2 which is generally vertical to an end surface of the case 10, and in which at least one or more of the plate-like piezoelectric elements 16-1, 16-2 is provided along the longitudinal direction; and a supporting part 14-3 for supporting the contact part 14-3 and the drive part 14-2. The revolving shaft of the rotor 12, the supporting part 14-1, the contact part 14-3, and the drive part 14-2 are positioned on the same straight line along the longitudinal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
