<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which prevents an organic solvent from affecting a translucent member in a light detection device, and provide a method of manufacturing the printer. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 10 includes a light detection device 20 having a light emitting means 21 which can emit light to an object to be read, and a light receiving means 22 which receives light reflected from the object to be read and outputs an output signal corresponding to the received light. The light detection device 20 is mounted on a carriage 32a. The light detection device 20 includes the translucent member 24 on at least one of light transmitting parts of the light emitting means 21 and the light receiving means 22. Material of the translucent member 24 is transparent resin, and the transparent resin is subjected to deterioration treatment for reducing translucency by the organic solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
