<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft fiber sheet without the fiber breaking or the breakage of the sheet itself and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing fiber sheet comprises: a feed driving process 12 of adjusting a transporting speed of a continuous fiber sheet 10, which is a raw material of a fiber sheet 10A; and a pleat formation process 13 of feeding the continuous fiber sheet 10 to a part 28 where a plurality of teeth 25,26 are engaged with each other so as to form continuous pleats 29 with irregular shape in a moving direction MD, the teeth 25,26 extending in a cross direction CD that intersects with the moving direction MD. A feeding speed V1 in the feed driving process 12 is higher than a feeding speed V2 in the pleat formation process 13. The continuous fiber sheet 10 is subjected to the pleat formation process 13 while it is substantially not elongated in the moving direction MD. The pleats 29 are formed on the continuous fiber sheet 10 without mechanically breaking a non-stretchable fiber.
