<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus capable of simply decontaminating contaminated soil in a short time and producing a little secondary waste. <P>SOLUTION: The contaminated soil and a solvent for decontamination are stirred in a mixing tank 5 and separated into solid and liquid by a filtering device 8. Solid components are sent to a drying device 10. The solid components are discharged after having finished the drying in the drying device 10. A filtrate is heated and evaporated by an evaporating device 12, condensed by a condenser 14, and then returned to a decontamination liquid tank 3. Residual liquid from the evaporating device 12, the solvent components of which are evaporated and collected by an evaporating/drying device 21 and the dried solid components are discharged. The solid component residuals are recovered, sent to cement solidification facilities, mixed with a solidification agent and kneading water and formed into mortar paste, and the mortar paste is discharged to a container such as a metal drum.
