<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve layout properties in a shift control device for a saddle riding type vehicle, including an operating pedal operated to turn with a rider's foot for shifting, and a detector for detecting a shift operation performed by the operating pedal, and performing the shift operation of a transmission based on the detection result of the detector. <P>SOLUTION: A support member 113 supporting a movable member 112 linearly moving according to the turning operation of the operating pedal is supported to a body frame or an engine body so as to be regulated in movement in the moving direction of the movable member 112, and the detector 126 detecting the operation of the movable member 112 is mounted to the support member 113.
