<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platoon traveling system enabling a platoon traveling of a large number of vehicles exceeding communication capacity of a leading vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A platoon traveling system allows platoon traveling information to be sent together with a sub-platoon ID in addition to an entire platoon ID so that a platoon traveling control is performed with use of the sub-platoon ID, in a platoon traveling state (StateD). In addition, a second vehicle and following vehicles (C2 and the followings) of the entire platoon each are a leading vehicle of a sub-platoon as well as a subsequent vehicle of a preceding sub-platoon. The second and following vehicles each receive platoon traveling information of a leading vehicle of a sub-platoon, in which a self-vehicle serves as a subsequent vehicle, and then determine contents of a platoon traveling control of the self-vehicle. Subsequently, the contents of a platoon traveling control determined is sent together with the platoon traveling information. Accordingly, a subsequent vehicle of a sub-platoon, in which the self-vehicle serves as a leading vehicle, also performs the platoon traveling control on the basis of the platoon traveling information of a leading vehicle of a sub-platoon, in which the self-vehicle serves as a subsequent vehicle.
