摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a minus ion generator capable of generating ozone together with minus ions. <P>SOLUTION: A minus ion generator 1 comprises: a discharge electrode 2 including a body part 2a having a round rod shape, and a conical part 2b having a sharp tip part 2c at one end of the body part; a ring electrode 3; a shield cover 4; a direct-current high voltage generating circuit 5; a variable resistor 6; and a power source 7. The ring electrode 3 is concentrically arranged in parallel to the discharge electrode 2. The direct-current high voltage generating circuit 5 is connected to the power source 7, to covert an output of the power source 7 into a direct-current high voltage. A positive electrode of the direct-current high voltage generating circuit 5 is connected to the ring electrode 3, and a negative electrode is connected to the discharge electrode 2, to provide high potential to the negative electrode and output the direct-current high voltage so that the positive electrode has a zero potential. When the high potential is provided to the discharge electrode 2, electrons are emitted from the tip part 2c by electron radiation to generate the minus ions.
