FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing a powder which hardens in water and can be used in production of construction materials, for example cement. The method of producing a water-hardening powder involves a step of grinding a water-hardening compound in the presence of a compound (a), which is a compound obtained by adding an average of 0.5-6 moles of ethylene oxide to 1 mole of glycerol, provided that polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol are excluded.
