摘要 A trans-reflective type LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a rib on a color filter substrate corresponding to the reflection portion area and the transmission portion area and to improve the liquid crystal alignment property and the electric field property. A lower substrate(125) includes an array layer(110) formed on the first insulating layer(101). The array layer comprises a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) and a pixel electrode. An over coat layer(109) with a photo acryl group is formed on the array layer. A pixel electrode(107) is formed at the position corresponding to the transmission area on the over coat layer. A reflection electrode(112) is formed at the position corresponding to the reflection area. The pixel electrode and the reflection electrode are formed on the over coat layer with the same height. An upper substrate(135) includes a color filter layer(130) formed on the second insulating layer(120). The color filter layer comprises red, green and blue color filters and black matrixes. A common electrode(140) is formed on the color filter layer and made of transparent conductive materials. The first rip(150a) is formed on the common electrode corresponding to the transmission area and the second rip(150b) is formed on the common electrode corresponding to the reflection area.
