<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image converting apparatus capable of preventing failure of right and left ends of stereoscopic video generated by shifting pixels of an original image according to a parallax amount, a stereoscopic image output apparatus and a stereoscopic image converting method. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image converting apparatus includes: a depth estimation part for generating a depth map in which a depth value of each pixel of input video estimated on the basis of a feature amount of the input video is represented by contrast of pixels; a right and left ends depth correction part for generating a correction depth map in which depth values from right and left ends of the depth map generated by the depth map estimation part to a constant distance are corrected to get closer to a depth value corresponding to a screen face of a display part which is not protruding forward and receding rearward in stereoscopic viewing as they are positioned closer to each of the right and left ends of the depth map; and a parallax image generation part for generating a multi-parallax image by shifting pixels of the input video in a horizontal direction by a predetermined amount according to the depth value of the correction depth map. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
