<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating pump reducible in the enlargement of a size. <P>SOLUTION: The reciprocating pump comprises: a motor having a motor shaft; four cylinders 30Ap, 30Bp, 30Cv and 30Dv arranged in positions which are displaced from one another by angels of 90°, and whose cylinder axial directions are orthogonal to the motor axial direction; four pistons; and a casing 20 for housing the motor shaft. Furthermore, the reciprocating pump comprises four air intake passages 24pi, 24vi for introducing air into four cylinders 30, and four exhaust passages 24pe, 24ve for discharging air from the four cylinders 30. These eight passages are arranged in a region surrounded by the four cylinders 30 when viewed from the motor shaft direction, and also arranged two by two between the adjacent cylinders around the motor.
