<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection device 101 etc., that allows a user to easily select an item, and is high in degree of freedom of design of an image where items are arranged. <P>SOLUTION: In an item selection mode, an image display section 102 displays an image having items arranged on a touch screen. A detection section 103 detects a track of a user's touch on the touch screen, and an acquisition section 104 acquires a representative points of the track. When the position of the representative point is not included in a predetermined area, a storage section 105 stores the position of the latest acquired representative point as to the user as a selection result of the user. When the position of the representative point is included in the predetermined area, a stop section 106 stops the display of the image. The image display section 102 displays an in-selection mark at a position associated with the stored selection result in the touch screen.
