STAY DEGREE DETECTION APPARATUS AND PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stay degree detection apparatus for detecting a stay degree in the vicinity of an entrance based on the number (occupation ratio) of users and walking speeds by using a device for detecting collapse by observing user's feet, and to provide a passenger conveyer.

SOLUTION: The stay degree detection apparatus includes a scan type distance sensor 7 for radiating a laser beam like a horizontal plane to a detection area which is a scanning range for detecting stay of persons. The scan type distance sensor 7 is arranged so as to observe user's feet and configured to store a distance in each measured angle and output a control command such as an alarm and stop based on the number of persons and a walking speed calculated by resting time of feet from data in a detection area captured by the scan type distance sensor.
