<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin processor for highly accurately detecting the diameter of a coin to be conveyed by a rotary member. <P>SOLUTION: The coin processor includes: a rotary member having a coin reception part for receiving a coin, which is configured to convey the coin received by the coin reception part by rotating; an optical sensor configured to detect the coin received by the coin reception part while the rotary member rotates; a posture correction part configured to, when the coin is detected by the optical sensor, correct the posture of the coin in the coin reception part by contacting with the coin; and a recess formed in the section of either the coin reception part or the posture correction part with which the coin is brought into contact when the coin is detected by the optical sensor.
