The method involves providing several processing stations (2-4) with sheet transport system (7). The sheet transport system is provided with linear electromagnetic actuators driven by gripper carriages (8). The linear electromagnetic actuators are controlled during sheet transport process such that the sheet (6) such as paper in processing station (2) supplied by sheet feeder (1) is greatly accelerated. The average transport velocity is larger than the average transport speed of the sheet. The sheet in processing station is processed and transported. An independent claim is included for sheet-processed machine.
