<p>A backlight module and a liquid crystal display comprising the backlight module. The backlight module comprises a back plate (1), a direct-type LED array (5), a sidelight LED array (4), and a light guide plate (2). The back plate (1) comprises a bottom plate and side plates. The light guide plate (2) is located between the side plates and above the bottom plate. The direct-type LED array (5) is disposed on the bottom plate of the back plate (1) and is located below the middle portion of the light guide plate (2). The sidelight LED array (4) is disposed at two sides of the light guide plate (2) and is opposite a light incident surface of the light guide plate (2). A plurality of light scattering structures (6) for scattering light is disposed on a light exit surface (23) or a bottom surface (22) at the two ends, near the sidelight LED array (4), of the light guide plate (2). In the direct-type and sidelight-type combined backlight module, the plurality of light scattering structures (6) is disposed on the light exit surface (23) or the bottom surface (22) at the two ends of the light guide plate (2); the light guide plate (2) is divided into three backlight regions, and the sub-region display control of the backlight module is implemented through the light scattering structures (6) and an LED drive circuit, thereby improving the sub-region display effect of the backlight brightness of the backlight module and reducing the power consumption of the liquid crystal module.</p> |
