<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide needle beds of a flat knitting machine. <P>SOLUTION: In the flat knitting machine, the needle beds are each arranged on each of both sides of a needle bed gap and each include: a plurality of partition plates parallel to each other; a plurality of knitting needles and sinkers each arranged between the partition plates; and a sinker control device which moves in parallel to the arrangement direction of the sinkers. The sinker control device includes: a switching device which effects a switching stroke in accordance with the movement direction; and at least one control cam which pushes and rotates the sinker in the direction toward the needle bed gap in conjunction with the switching stroke of the switching device. At least one needle pressing plate, which restricts the vertical movement of the knitting needles, is provided on the partition plates. The switching device of the sinker control device facing the needle pressing plate includes a magnetic attraction part which magnetically attracts the needle pressing plate.
