The invention relates to a method for controlling a multiphase electric machine (2), having the following steps: - providing switching patterns for a first switching period in a buffer (7), said switching period being assigned to a rotor position of the electric machine (2), wherein each switching pattern corresponds to a combination of phase voltages that are to be applied during a rotor position of the electric machine (2); - cyclically requesting a switching pattern and controlling a drive circuit (3) in a manner corresponding to the switching pattern requested each time; - calculating switching patterns for a subsequent switching period; and - storing the calculated switching patterns for the subsequent time period in the buffer (7). |
