The system has a mechanical signal box (4) frictionally coupled with railway infrastructure elements (3a-3d) of a track section (1) by mechanical position elements (5). An adjuster averaging device (9) detects positions of the mechanical position elements corresponding to mechanical settings of the railway infrastructure elements. The adjuster averaging device determines mechanical settings of the railway infrastructure elements, which are coupled with the mechanical position elements based on the detected positions of the mechanical position elements. A sensor detects a marker. The mechanical position elements are designed as a cable. The sensor is designed as a camera and a radio frequency identification (RFID) receiver, and the marker is designed as optical color and/or pattern marks and RFID transponders.
