发明名称 Improvements in or relating to the supply of liquid fuel to, and consumption by, oil burners
摘要 1,056,523. Supplying liquid fuel to burners. K. L. TSANG. Feb. 27. 1964, No. 8140/64. Heading F4T. Liquid fuel such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil, fuel oil and synthetic fuels in a cylinder 14 is supplied through a line 17 to a main burner. 1 by the pressure of liquefied propane or butane gas in cylinders 4, 5. The propane is also supplied through a line 22 to a pilot burner 29 and to an auxiliary burner 54 for heating the vaporizer of the main burner 1 at starting. A valve 25 controlling the flow of propane to the auxiliary burner 54 is opened by a thermocouple or thermostat 27 with a sensing element 28 a few seconds after the pilot burner 29 has been lit. A valve 18 controlling the flow of liquid fuel to the main burner is opened by a thermocouple or thermostat 20 with a sensing element 21 when the vaporizer of the main burner has been heated to a selected temperature. The vaporized liquid fuel is ignited by the pilot burner 29. The auxiliary burner 54 is then shut down by manually closing the valve 25. The supply system includes a pressure regulating valve 12 between the propane cylinders 4, 5 and the liquid fuel cylinder 14, another pressure regulating valve 23 in the line 22 to the auxiliary and pilot burners and an automatic change-over device 6 which is set to allow flow of propane from one pair only of the two pairs of cylinders 4, 5 and which switches automatically to the other pair when the operating pair are exhausted; it also emits a signal. In the modification shown in Fig. 2A two cylinders 31, 32 are connected by an inverted U-tube 34 and at starting one cylinder 31 is filled with water or acid or basic, organic or inorganic liquid and the other with liquid fuel. Liquefied propane is supplied to the top of the water cylinder 31 and forces the liquid fuel from the top of the other cylinder to the burner. In a modification, Fig. 2B (not shown), the two cylinders 31, 32 are replaced by a single cylinder 33 divided into two compartments by a barrier plate 38 fixed at mid height. A vertical dip tube 39 extends from above the plate to near the bottom of the cylinder. At starting water fills the lower part of the cylinder and liquid fuel the upper part. Liquefied propane is supplied to an inlet 41 immediately below the barrier plate 38 and forces the liquid fuel through an outlet at the top of the cylinder to the burner. In another modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), a single cylinder contains the liquid fuel and a supernatant layer of ethyl-, propyl-, butyl-, or amyl-amine or butyl-di-amylamine or dibutylamine or dipropylamine. Liquefied propane is supplied to the top of the cylinder and forces the liquid fuel through an outlet at the bottom. In still another embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), a single cylinder contains a porous synthetic plate 49 which floats on the main fuel. In a still further modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), a liner of synthetic plastic elastomeric material forms a barrier between the propane and the liquid fuel: The main burner may have an atomizing nozzle instead of a vaporizer.
