The device (10) has an adjustable holder arm (11) carrying an engagement device (12) brought into engagement with an outer side of a wall of a tube (T), where a shifting force applied on the tube by over the engagement device during displacement of the holder arm. The engagement device has an adhesion element deformable by an operating member and stretchable against the wall of the tube. The adhesion element is formed by a strip-shaped planar section, and has constant cross-section over its length.
