<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool a square battery with a cooling pipe capable of simply conducting piping. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A battery system includes: a battery block 3 composed of a plurality of square batteries 1 that have a width greater than a thickness and are fixed in a stack with a battery holder 4; a cooling pipe 6 cooling the square batteries 1 of the battery block 3; and a coolant feeding device 7 feeding coolant to the cooling pipe 6. In the battery system, the cooling pipe 6 is arranged on the surface of the battery block 3 in a thermally-connected state, and the square batteries 1 are cooled by the coolant which is circulated through the cooling pipe 6.
