The invention comprises compounds of the Formula (I) and their 7,8-dihydro-derivatives, wherein R represents a hydroxy or methoxy group, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group, and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, allyl or benzyl group <FORM:1069969/C2/1> <FORM:1069969/C2/2> The compounds of the Formula (I) and their 7,8-dihydro-derivatives may be prepared by reacting compounds of the Formula (II) or their 7,8-dihydro-derivatives with a cyclopropylmethyl halide and reacting the resulting cyclopropylmethyl compound with carboxymethoxylamine or its acid addition salts and treating the resulting carboxymethyloxime with diazomethane to give its methyl ester or reacting the cyclopropylmethyl compound with an appropriate esterified carboxymethoxylamine. Therapeutic compositions with analgesic and antitussive properties in forms suitable for oral, parenteral and rectal application, comprise compounds of the Formula (I) or their 7,8-dihydro-derivatives together with a pharmaceutically acceptable inert carrier.
