A flat, curved or angular tongued and grooved building panel comprising a glass wool or foam plastics core 4 faced with metal skins has along one edge a metal or plastics channel member 12 defining two parallel grooves, and along the other edge projecting skin portions 15, 16 defining two parallel tongues. The channel 12 is preferably of hard p.v.c. Sealing material 19 may be in the form of plastics putty or may comprise a hollow or solid strip. The panels are secured to horizontally-slotted Z-section stringers 5 by turnbuckle members 6 held by bolts 7, there being sufficient overlap of the tongues and grooves to allow lateral adjustment of the panels. Each stringer 5 has two rows of overlapping horizontal slots. Each turnbuckle is locked in position as it is tightened by a rectangular projection thereon engaging the stringer slot. |
