PURPOSE: A low-temperature wire drawing apparatus and method are provided to minimize frictional heat by circulating liquid nitrogen to lower the surface temperature of a wire rod. CONSTITUTION: A low-temperature wire drawing apparatus(100) comprises a cylinder(110), drawing dies(D), and a clamp(C). The cylinder gas a temperature control mechanism for controlling the temperature of a wire rod(S) before drawing and holds a wire rod before drawing. The clamp draws a wire rod passing through the drawing dies. A cooling medium passes through a cooling unit of the temperature control mechanism to maintain the temperature of a wire rod ranging between -195°C and 0°C. |
