The method involves cutting a set of elements (11, 21, 31) of plate materials, and fixing the elements arranged with an upper face on a temporary support (50) such as kraft paper. The set of elements is positioned to form a pattern e.g. portrait, and a lower face of the set of elements is fixed on an intermediate support (51) i.e. two-sided adhesive film, for fixing the pattern on a final support e.g. wall. The temporary support is removed after fixing of the pattern. An independent claim is also included for a pattern.
