<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device having a liquid crystal panel capable of preventing generation of pseudo contour due to overdrive. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device 1 includes: a liquid crystal panel 11 having plural pixels; and an overdrive section 50 that, with respect to a target pixel on which an overdrive is made in the liquid crystal panel 11, determines a gain application value to be used for overdrive on the basis of a predetermined gain setting value and applies a liquid crystal drive voltage to the target pixel on the basis of the gain application value. The overdrive section 50 performs a gain suppression operation to determine a gain application value smaller than the gain setting value on a pixel in which the tone value of a present frame obtained from an image signal is an intermediate tone value in the target pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
