<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The furnace i.e. cupola furnace (1), has a fume hood (2) for sucking blast furnace gas from the furnace, and multiple blast furnace gas burners opening into the furnace. Blast furnace gas conduits (11) connect the fume hood and the blast furnace gas burners and open into a flushing pipe (19) that is provided with a fan (20). A supply pipe (14) for supplying oxidant is arranged in the blast furnace gas burners. A driving nozzle (13) is attached to the supply pipe for accelerating of the oxidant and sucking of the blast furnace gas over the blast furnace gas conduits. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for melting operation goods in a shaft furnace. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Shaft furnace i.e. cupola furnace (claimed), for melting operation goods such as iron-metallic material i.e. cast iron, inorganic material and glass. Can also be used for melting pig iron, steel scrap and ferro-alloy. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The fume hood sucks the blast furnace gas from the furnace, and the blast furnace gas burners open into the furnace, where the blast furnace gas conduits connect the fume hood and the blast furnace gas burners and open into the flushing pipe that is provided with the fan, thus preventing return flow of slag in the blast furnace gas burners. The furnace is designed such that unwanted ignition in the blast furnace gas conduits is prevented.
