摘要 <p>A velocity measurement device (100) which is capable of being applied to a mobile body (200) which moves in a prescribed advancement direction comprises: an image capture means (1) having an image capture line (A1) in a primary scan direction which is substantially parallel to the advancement direction of the mobile body (200), said image capture means (1) for capturing an image of a railroad tie (22) which is placed upon the ground facing the mobile body (200) and outputting first image data which is obtained by the image capture; an image creation means (11) for arraying the first image data at each prescribed time in an array direction which is not parallel to the primary scan direction, creating two-dimensional second image data including a striped pattern based on the object (22), and outputting the second image data; and velocity computation means (13-15) for calculating a direction angle of the stripes of the striped pattern of the second image data, computing the velocity of the mobile body (200) from the direction angle of the stripes of the striped pattern using a relation in which the direction angle of the stripes of the striped pattern is proportional to the velocity of the mobile body (200), and outputting the velocity of the mobile body (200) as velocity data.</p>
