PURPOSE: An image reading device is provided to cover a part of an exposure unit of an opening and closing tool with a cover member without considering an opening and closing position of a cover unit. CONSTITUTION: An opening and closing tool unit(200) includes a first mounting unit(210) and a second mounting unit(220). The opening and closing tool unit opens and closes a cover unit(50) corresponding to rotation of the tool unit in the center of a rotary shaft for the tool unit. A cover member(300) is rotated around a rotary shaft(232) for the cover member and covers a part of an exposure unit(215) exposed from the cover unit and a reading unit(70). Rotation restriction units(306,308) restrict rotation of weight of the cover member. |
