Disclosed is a method for detecting Aß-specific antibodies in a biological sample comprising the following steps: -contacting the sample with Aß-aggregates or with particles comprising Aß-aggregate like surfaces and allowing the Aß- specific antibodies to bind to the Aß-aggregates, and -detecting the Aß-specific antibodies bound to the Aß-aggregates by a single particle detection technique, preferably by fluorescence activated cell sorting FACS.
