<p>The method of controlling a casting system (4) comprising an ingot mold (10) for receiving a liquid substance (8), comprises hardening the liquid substance during a setting time in the ingot mold, detecting a process parameter during the production process, and then determining the setting time in accordance with the detected process parameter. During a casting process of a component (6) to be manufactured, a current process parameter is detected, and a solidification time for the component is determined in dependence of the detected current process parameter. The process parameter is detected continuously or in predeterminable time spacings, and is a temperature of the mold or temperature of the material in the mold. The determination of solidification time is performed in dependence of a comparison of the acquired process parameter with a target. The solidification time of the component to be manufactured is determined once before starting the production process in dependence of the solidification time of the manufactured component. The target solidification time is given, and the target is determined before the production process. The target process parameter is determined in dependence of the state of the casting system and/or the mold form. An independent claim is included for a casting system with a mold for receiving a liquid substance.</p> |
