PURPOSE: A freezing device and a defrosting method thereof is provided to utilize power required for lowing the temperature of a forwarding room without applying an electric heater mode, thereby obtaining a defrosting member which does not consume spare power. CONSTITUTION: A freezing device comprises a first refrigerant circuit(14), a second refrigerant circuit, first air cooling devices(26a,26b,26c), a forwarding room cooling unit, and a second CO2 circulating passage(46). The first refrigerant circuit forms a freezing cycle with NH3 as a refrigerant. CO2 solution cooled by the NH3 is circulated through the refrigerant circuit. The forwarding room cooling unit is composed of a second air cooling device(27d), a first liquid receiver(42), and a first CO2 circulating passage(44). The pressure of the first liquid receiver is regulated so that the CO2 solution can be under-run at temperature under a room temperature exceeding 0 degree. The first CO2 circulating passage is arranged between the second air cooling device and first liquid receiver. A second CO2 circulating passage is connected between the first liquid receiver and the first air cooling device.
