<p num="1"><br/><br/><br/>The invention relates to a device for dispensing bark beetle pheromone in a <br/>controlled manner. Said device consists of a plastic container comprising one <br/>or more sealed chambers, each containing a liquid pheromone that is composed <br/>of 2-ethyl-1,6-dioxaspiro[4,4]nonane, 2,4-decadiene carboxylic acid methyl <br/>ester and at least one alcohol selected from 2-methyl but-3-en-2-ol and 2-<br/>methylbut-3-in-2-ol, at least 50 % of the surface of the walls that form the <br/>chambers having a wall thickness ranging between 0.1 and 1 mm. At least said <br/>surfaces consist of a plastic material that is an uncoated vinyl acetate <br/>ethylene copolymer with a vinyl acetate content ranging between 10 and 17 wt. <br/>%. The invention also relates to a method for combating and controlling the <br/>swarming behaviour of the species Pityogenes chalcographus, which is also <br/>known as the six-toothed spruce bark beetle.<br/>
