<p>PURPOSE: A vehicle braking system and a method for controlling the same are provided to guide safe driving by braking a vehicle although an engine is stopped due to the abnormality of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle braking system(10) includes an electric brake(180), a switch(150), a monitoring CPU(130). If the switch is short-circuited, power is supplied to the electric brake. One end part of the switch is in connection with the power terminal of the electric brake. Power from a battery is supplied to the power terminal of the electric brake by the switch. The monitoring CPU confirms the vehicle braking process of an engine ECU(110) in case of the operation of a brake pedal(140). The monitoring CPU short-circuits the switch if the vehicle drives under the operation of the brake pedal. The monitoring CPU controls the electric brake to brake the vehicle.</p> |
