PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a thermoelectric module is provided to improve the efficiency of a thermoelectric device by previously removing moisture and impurities from fine thermoelectric powder through a preprocess step. CONSTITUTION: An ingot is made and fine thermoelectric powder is made by a milling process. Impurities and moisture are removed from the fine thermoelectric powder before the fine thermoelectric powder is sintered(303). The thermoelectric powder is sieved and is sintered with a hot press method or a discharge plasma sintering method(305). A P-type or N-type thermoelectric device is made by cutting the sintered materials. Four sides of the thermoelectric device are hermetically sealed. Two sides of the thermoelectric device are immersed in plating solutions and are plated with a diffusion preventing layer. The four sides of the thermoelectric device are unsealed except the two sides of the thermoelectric device.
