<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for suppressing, in forming an image by an image forming apparatus including a latent image carrier including a photosensitive layer made of amorphous silicon and a cleaning unit including an elastic blade in combination, an increase in a coefficient of friction on the surface of the latent image carrier during a successive image formation to suppress the occurrence of dropout of toner caused by bending-up of the elastic blade or transfer failure, and suppressing the occurrence of a reversely-charged toner to suppress the occurrence of image failure such as fogging; and an image forming apparatus using the image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus further including an application brush that is provided on an upstream side of a cleaning unit in a direction of rotation of a latent image carrier, and is applied with a positive voltage, a developer for an electrostatic latent image development is used including a positively-charged toner, and a fatty acid metal salt having a volume average particle diameter of 2 to 12 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
