The system (1) has a display (16), and two eyepieces (25, 26) for guiding images (21, 23) on partial areas of the display to eyes (3, 4) of a viewer, respectively, where one of the partial areas is different from the other partial area. An adjusting device (18) is provided for adapting distance between the eyepieces to an eye distance of the viewer. A measuring device measures adjusted distance between the eyepieces. A control unit (14) is provided for adjusting distance between the images in the partial areas of the display based on a measuring signal of the measuring device. An independent claim is also included for an operation microscope.
