<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image identification device and an image identification method which can be also applied to a form with no ruled line without requiring a dedicated form, and can correctly identify a similar form. <P>SOLUTION: An image identification device comprises: a master image input section 101 for inputting a master image as a first image; a data image input section 102 for inputting a data image as a second image; a mask region input section 104 for inputting a set of mask regions to be designated for the master image; a data matching section 103 for matching the master image with the data image; a difference extraction section 105 for extracting a difference between the master image and the data image which have been matched with each other, which excludes the mask region; and a difference degree output section 106 for outputting a difference degree between the master image and the data image based on the magnitude of the extracted difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
