PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a modified hydrazide compound obtainable of a curable resin composition having a long pot life when being used as a thermosetting agent; a method for producing the same; a curable resin composition formed by using the same; a sealing agent for a liquid crystal dropping method comprising the curable resin composition, excellent in storage stability and hardly causing liquid crystal contamination; a vertical conductive material formed by using the sealing agent for the liquid crystal dropping method; and a liquid crystal display.

SOLUTION: This modified hydrazide compound is represented by formula (1). [In the formula, R represents a 0-18C substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, oxo group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic ring; and n represents an integer of 0-18].
