A vehicle network system is configured such that a plurality of ECUs (11 to 18) that allow internal data to be modified are connected to a network (19) so as to be communicable with one another. The combined data (UV) is created by collecting and combining pieces of split data (A to E), split from original data generated on the basis of the internal data of the first ECU (11) and distributed and held in the plurality of ECUs (12 and 14 to 17). The check value (CV).is generated on the basis of internal data held in the first ECU (11) at each point in time.
