<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a catalyst-supporting carrier capable of supporting crystallized titanium oxide on the surface of a conductive carrier so that the titanium oxide is alloyed with a catalyst metal as little as possible and capable of constituting an electrode catalyst layer excellent in catalyst activity and hydrophilicity, and to provide the catalyst-supporting carrier manufactured by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the catalyst-supporting carrier includes a first step of preparing suspension S1 of an intermediate 3 of the catalyst-supporting carrier configured by supporting a catalyst metal 2 on the surface of a carbon group conductive carrier 1 and a second step of obtaining a catalyst-supporting carrier 10 configured by supporting titanium oxide 4 on the surface of the conductive carrier 1 by adding suspension S2 of a titanium oxide precursor 4' to the suspension S1, hydrolyzing the suspension and burning the hydrolyzed solution at 300°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
